THE FOSTERS RECAP: Family Day 1x14

Oh my gosh all the things. The Brallie/Ballie things (whatever you call it, I’m a Brallie person) and the Girls United things (did you see the webisodes? We can discuss that later) and JUDE, oh my gosh Jude. He’s the best kid ever. And the “Jesus time” was probably my favorite Fosters joke ever. Then there’s the potential for Jesus/Emma/Lexi issues, and the pregnancy thing. AND ADOPTION AND FAMILY DAY. We have a lot to discuss, my friends.

Okay, so we shall start this off with Brallie. The big one, the major. They were absolutely adorable. Daphne letting them use her place to meet was really nice, and Kiara being super protective over Callie was sweet too. I’m glad she still likes her considering that Callie hasn’t really been behaving herself as of late. That girl needs to get her sh*t together. The serenading was the best. That was so adorable. I totally and completely hope that the ILP thing works out, because then everyone will be happy and it’ll fix everything. Callie can be by herself, Jude can get adopted, and Brallie can be a thing. Everyone will be good, including the state of California.

Girls United webisodes are probably like the best idea ever. Those things are amazing. You can watch them HERE on YouTube if you live in the US, or HERE on the ABC Spark website if you live in Canada. There are 5 of them, and they’re all so cool. Somehow, they gave me the same feeling that I get after watching an episode of The Fosters, that same anxious feeling where I need to know more and I need to know now. Thankfully, you can now. They have all 5 of them up, so you can marathon them. The longest one is 5 minutes, and they’re great supplementary stuff. You learn a lot about the girls, stuff you never thought they had. I mean, we learned their criminal record, but not their personal baggage that made them get a criminal record. I’m not going to spoil it all for you here, so you’re going to have to go watch them. They’re really good.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Jude is my favorite character, by far. You just can’t hate the kid, it’s impossible. He’s too cute and vulnerable. I love that he’s getting used to the Foster house and that he called it his room and threw stuff at Jesus like they were real brothers!!!

Jesus time, by the way, is the best joke he’s ever made. He’s 12, how does he know that stuff? It made me laugh so hard, especially the look on his face. Jesus’ face, though, that was the priceless one. Oh God, he was mortified, and there wasn’t even anything to be mortified about.

They have to adopt Jude, it must happen. I think he’s sick and tired of Callie getting in the way of his life and a little bit of his happiness, and I’m happy he finally took charge on that and told her he was going to be adopted, whether she went with him or not. Obviously she isn’t, because of Brandon, but standing up to her was good. Callie will most likely not get adopted, but Jude certainly will. They have to hurry up and finish this paperwork, it’s making me nervous.

Someone needs to figure out Jesus and Emma before things get complicated. I do not need a love triangle here, because Lexi has the unfair advantage of living in Honduras. So firstly, can we talk about how “Jesus time” was supposed to be for him and Lexi, or just for him? It was not supposed to involve Emma at all. Although I do like their relationship, the whole mistakenly sent text thing is weird, and the fact that he needed private time to video chat with her is weird. Let Jude in the room to at least get his homework. There shouldn’t been anything going on there anyways, so what’s the big deal? And there’s the sexting with Lexi. Not a good idea. Something is going to go wrong there, I know it. Emma’s gonna see them, or someone is going to send them somewhere, and everything is going to be ruined. I just know it isn’t a good idea for them to be doing those kinds of things, especially when he has to be such a tool to do it. Yeah, so I think Emma makes a good friend for him, and I’m still not sure about Lexi. I never really liked her in the first place, but this was pushing it to a new level.

I think that Lena probably should have talked to Stef about the whole pregnancy thing before she ordered those prenatal vitamins. That’s a huge thing to be taking on, and she can’t just decide to bring another human into the world without consulting her first, especially at this point. Having 6 kids might get a little hectic. She really has to think about the ripple effects of what’s going to happen when they have 8 people living in their house. As is, they barely fit. Brandon’s going to have to share a room with the baby or something. Stef also gets to have a say in whether they have a baby or not, since they are married. That’s generally not how you go about having a child when you’re married. You don’t forget the other person and just do what you want. You can’t do that with anything in that situation, but more so in this type of situation. I know she probably wants to have a baby because Stef has her biological child, and all Lena’s ever had are adopted kids.

And so, Family Day. It’s probably one of my favorite things to happen to Callie, or ever. From Gabi asking about Jesus to Mariana making extremely privileged kid conversation with the girls to Brandon and Callie having their little chat in the kitchen, it was perfect. I’m so happy Callie’s happy, and Jude’s happy, and everyone’s good. Except for Stef, considering that’s when they found out about the ILP. I’m actually glad Brandon truthfully didn’t know about it, because they might have taken it away from her if he did. They’d think it was a scheme so she could date him, and that’s part of the whole reason she even landed herself in that home in the first place. So yeah, everyone’s good. But does anyone think that Gabi and Jesus would be really cute together? I think it’s the lip ring.
